NFL Pro Bowl 2020: Voting is now open
As is the tradition in the NFL, prior to the Super Bowl we have the Pro Bowl match which this year is being hosted in Orlando, Florida. The meeting between the NFC and the AFC will take place Sunday 26th January and will showcase the best talent from both sides of the NFL’s divisions.
With such incredible talent spanning all 32 NFL teams, it’s a showcase that can not be missed. Who doesn’t want to see the best wide receivers in the game team up together receiving passes off the best quarterbacks and being defended by the incredible defensive tandems that will be created? Like something out of the NFL game Madden, these All-Star teams truly make for an exciting friendly right before the biggest show of the year Super Bowl LIV. And what is even better about this matchup is we the fan gets to choose who is on these rosters. Very rarely do the fans get a chance to shape the game but this is the perfect opportunity.
And let’s face it, it’s already becoming very easy to pick the best players in each position in the NFL right now. On the AFC side for sure the best quarterbacks are Lamar Jackson, Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson. With the NFC probably getting Russell Wilson, Jimmy Garoppolo and Aaron Rodgers. In fact, in key positions, it's pretty darn easy to tell you who is having the best season, but when voting for deeper positions like offensive lineman and punt returners you would do well to do your research before voting. Obviously, all fans have their biased opinions probably picking people in such deeper positions from the team they support. But this may well overlook some players that truly deserve the accolade of Pro Bowler. So, make sure you do your research when voting.
Currently, the top five players with the most votes at the moment are three quarterbacks and two running backs all from different teams. They are; Baltimore Raven Lamar Jackson with 146,171 votes, Kansas City Chief Patrick Mahomes with 116,325 votes, Seattle Seahawk Russell Wilson with 115,370 votes, Minnesota Viking Dalvin Cook with 106,167 votes and Carolina Panther Christian McCaffrey with 100,218 votes. All five thoroughly deserve to be at the Pro Bowl however this may be hindered if they do reach the biggest game of the NFL season. If a player reaches the Super Bowl they are exempted from playing in the Pro Bowl game. But if I am an NFL player what do I want to play in more the Pro Bowl game or the Super Bowl? I think that is the easiest question of the century.
So, don’t waste any time and get online and vote for the players you would like to see in the All-Star game. A fitting accolade to what has been an incredible season so far in NFL’s centenary year.
