Great Britain’s Ealing Fields Win NFL Flag Championship Europe in London
The NFL Flag Tournament Hosted Six School and Club Teams from U.K., Germany, France, Spain, Austria and Ireland at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM — Oct. 9, 2025 — Great Britain’s Ealing Fields won the NFL Flag Championship Europe at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Monday, Oct 6. 2025. The one-day Flag football event saw U15 all-girls school and club teams from across Europe compete at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium – the only purpose-built stadium for the NFL outside of the U.S.
Now in its second year, the tournament expanded to feature six schools and club teams representing six countries - the U.K., Germany, France, Spain, Austria, and, for the first time, Ireland. The event showcased the exceptional talent of young female athletes in flag football, the non-contact version of American football and one of the fastest-growing sports among young women worldwide.
In the U15 Championship Game, Great Britain’s team Ealing Fields faced off against Germany’s Erasmus-Grasser-Gymnaium becoming champions with a final score of 27-12.
Each team is represented by an NFL club with Global Markets Program rights in their respective countries. The Global Markets Program allows NFL teams to have marketing rights in territories outside of the U.S. to continue to grow fandom across the world. The New York Jets, who play at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium against the Denver Broncos on Sunday, Oct. 12., have supported the Ealing Fields team through their Jets NFL Girls Flag League in London for a number of years.
"We were delighted to host the NFL Flag Championship Europe at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the third consecutive year," said Henry Hodgson, General Manager for NFL U.K. and Ireland. "The London Games provide us with a chance to display our key initiatives, and this event showed why youngsters should be engaging with flag football. Congratulations to all the teams for their performances and to Great Britain’s Ealing Fields for taking home the win."
The young female athletes received incredible support from the Global Flag Ambassadors from across Europe including Phoebe Schecter (Great Britain), Mona Stevens (Germany) and Elisa De Santis (France), with former Chiefs punter Dustin Colquitt also in attendance.
Prior to the tournament, the girls were treated to a special gameday experience at the first of the 2025 NFL London Games matchups between the Cleveland Browns and Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, Oct.5.
Flag football will be played at the Los Angeles Olympic Games in 2028, and is the world’s fastest-growing sport, played by over 20 million people in more than 100 countries. It is the most inclusive and accessible format of American football, played by people of all ages and genders, with female athletes driving some of the fastest growth. Fast, highly accessible and inclusive, the non-contact format of the game is spearheading extraordinary growth in participation globally.
The International Federation of American Football (IFAF) and the National Football League are investing in the development and growth of flag football at both grassroots and elite levels worldwide and the second year of the NFL Flag Championship Europe is another example of this growth.
